About Greypony

Protect photos and videos with watermarks, share controlled links, and see who engaged.

What Greypony is

Greypony helps you upload media, add a visible watermark, share it through links you control, and see views and downloads. Your library and sharing settings stay in your account — not scattered across apps.

Engagement

How image analytics works

Greypony analytics measure engagement on share links you create — not surveillance across the web. When you watermark an image or video and share it, we record engagement events. Separately, a consent ledger records every explicit action you take, and distribution records track where you posted content elsewhere (public vs private).

Views

Counted when someone opens your protected share page (greypony.company/s/…). One page load, one view event.

Downloads

Counted when someone clicks Download watermarked image on that share page.

Link copies

Counted when you copy the share link from your dashboard after upload — a signal that you distributed the link.

What we record

Each engagement event stores the asset, your workspace, event type, and timestamp. We may also store referrer and browser user-agent strings to help you debug traffic sources — not to build advertising profiles. Append ?d=<distribution-id> to a share link to attribute views to a specific outbound post.

Where you see it

Totals, a daily views chart, external post counts, and a top-assets table live in Dashboard → Analytics. Consent and distribution history appear on each vault asset. Developers can read summaries via GET /api/v1/analytics and log external posts via POST /api/v1/vault/:id/distributions with a gpr_live_* key.

Retention

Event history follows your plan: 30 days (Basic), 90 days (Core), 365 days (Sovereign API). Older events roll off automatically; asset counters in your vault remain.

What we do not do

We do not embed third-party trackers on share pages. We do not track visitors across unrelated sites. We do not use your images to train models. Analytics exist to give you visibility into links you chose to share — aligned with explicit consent, not covert monitoring.

Your controls

Delete assets from your vault, revoke distribution records, revoke share links when they expire, rotate API keys, and export or audit via attestation receipts and the consent ledger. For storage and retention details, see our data practices page. Data practices.
